Campaign Story
* Typical cost of capstone projects (including registrations, travel and supplies) is about $1200.
* I am trying to raise $600 as family and school will cover the rest.
Goals for My Fundraiser:
Supporting my capstone project
*** I plan to pursue the project though participation in TSA activities like competitions and community service. ***
The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) that helps students explore STEM through hands-on projects, competitions, and leadership opportunities.
What is ‘Sustainable Earth Conservation Campaign’
Launch a comprehensive multimedia campaign that combines short films and written proposals to propose innovative solutions for global climate change and sustainable earth conservation.
Why I am pursuing this project (My why)
- I am a ‘Initiator’ personality type person with strong ‘innovator’ business potential.
- I’m taking my passion for wildlife and marine conservation films, especially the suspenseful and mysterious ones, and using it to rock an environmental science project. My goal? To make our planet more sustainable and get everyone hyped about tackling climate change..
My plan of action: Competitions and Activities
Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) to join:
FCCLA – FCCLA provides leadership, career, and community service opportunities essential for building confidence, self-management skills, and innovative thinking.
HOSA – HOSA nurtures skills in healthcare and leadership, supporting quick decision-making and adaptability, which complement the student’s passion for innovative projects.
Competitions
This advanced TSA competition aligns with the sustainable earth conservation theme as it focuses on designing and racing a solar-powered vehicle, promoting renewable energy and innovative engineering.
TSA – Architectural Design
This introductory TSA competition encourages students to develop architectural plans, which can integrate eco-friendly design and sustainability principles essential for the conservation campaign.
This introductory competition (conceptual for FCCLA) focuses on creating projects related to sustainable lifestyles, directly complementing the passion for earth conservation by promoting sustainable practices at home and in the community.
This introductory HOSA competition develops the ability to deliver persuasive messages on health and community issues, which supports the conservation campaign by raising awareness about the health impacts of environmental issues.
Community Service:
Community Clean-up and Green Spaces Revitalization
Why it fits: The community activity directly supports sustainable earth conservation by beautifying local environments, reducing waste, and promoting green practices in the community, while engaging peers and local organizations.
Implementation: Plan a series of events in zip code 30058, including park clean-ups, tree planting, recycling drives, and the creation/maintenance of community gardens. Collaborate with local schools and neighborhood associations to coordinate efforts.
Skills Development: Project management, leadership, community engagement, environmental stewardship
